No fixed plan.

You may receive nutrition guidance or movement direction if helpful, but coaching is not a rigid program.

Instead, you learn how to make decisions that support your body long-term so you are not dependent on a plan.

Is this only for new mothers?

No.

Women come months, years, or even a decade into motherhood.

And also prior to conception whether they are a first time mother or subsequent pregnancies

The physiological transition of motherhood does not have a fixed timeline. Sometimes challenges appear long after birth once cumulative load builds.






Can I work with you if I am pregnant or planning pregnancy?

Yes, absolutely

Starting before pregnancy often makes the transition into motherhood significantly easier because you understand recovery, load and expectations early.

Many women wish they had this information earlier.

How often do we meet?

What exactly is Moana Health coaching?

Moana Health is structured health coaching focused on maternal performance and recovery.

It is a guided process to help you understand what is happening in your body and energy since motherhood, and to implement realistic changes that restore stability and capacity.

The work combines:
  • a performance and recovery lens grounded in high-performance sport
  • Health coaching
  • practitioner-level training in the science of motherhood 

The aim is not short-term motivation.
The aim is reliable energy, clear thinking and sustainable health within real life.

Performance:
  • weekly private sessions

Depth:
  • weekly sessions initially
  • then fortnightly sessions as changes integrate
  • plus messaging support between sessions

Sessions are held in person in Mangawhai, New Zealand or via video call anywhere in the world.

I’m very busy. Will I realistically be able to do this?

Yes — the work is designed specifically for women with full lives.

The goal is not to add more tasks.
It is to make your health workable inside your existing life.

You remain in the driver’s seat, in charge. We can tailor things to your particular needs. The only thing we ask is commitment from your side. Changes are small, practical and realistic.
We adapt the process to your capacity, not the other way around.

I already eat well and exercise. Will this still help?

Yes — and this is actually very common.

Many women in Moana Health are already doing the “right” things. The issue is not effort.

Often the mismatch is between: Knowing what actually changes in postpartum and 
your load, your recovery capacity, and your nervous system in motherhood.

Health Coaching helps interpret what your body is communicating so your effort starts producing results again. 


Do I need a specific health problem to work with you?

No.

Many women come because they simply feel different after motherhood and cannot explain why.

Some want better energy.
Some want clarity and focus.
Some want to return to exercise confidently.
Some want to feel like themselves again.

You do not need a diagnosis.
You only need a sense that your body is no longer responding the way it used to.

Is this therapy or counselling?

No.

We do talk about your life — because your health exists inside your life — but this is not psychotherapy or mental health treatment.

The focus is practical:
understanding load, recovery, energy patterns and daily functioning, and helping you implement sustainable changes.

Is this medical care?

No.

This is not medical diagnosis or treatment, and it does not replace your GP, midwife or specialist.

Instead, coaching sits alongside healthcare.
Where medical care addresses disease, coaching helps you understand patterns, behaviours, recovery and daily capacity.

If appropriate, I may suggest you speak with your GP or another professional, and I can help you prepare questions or understand recommendations.

What is the difference between Performance and Depth?

Moana Health — Performance (3 months)
A focused container.
You gain clarity, direction and a foundation for change.
You understand what is happening and keep implementing yourself.

Moana Health — Depth (6 months)
Longer supported integration.
We have time to implement, adjust and stabilise changes as real life unfolds.
You receive ongoing support while habits become sustainable.

Neither is “better.”
They simply suit different levels of time, support and pacing.
